You are required to build an informative web page focused upon the geography of one of the nations within the Commonwealth of Independent States (except for Russia!) (see Chapter 8). Your web page content must reflect your Scholarly Perspective.
Your web page MUST meet the following criteria:
1. It must be focused upon a nation within
the CIS other than Russia.
2. Your site must have at least three
links to other useful information related to your chosen country.
3. Your web page must include references
and at least 500-1000 words of original
text.
GEOGRAPHY EDUCATION
STUDENTS: Your pages must include a geography lesson for
a specific grade level
and references to the Geography Standards!!!
First Task: DRAFT WEB PAGE
Your first major task will be to develop
the a draft web page. My suggestion is that you use Microsoft
Frontpage.
Frontpage is
available on nearly every public PC on TSU's campus. It is very similar
to Microsoft Word.
First, you must pick a country from within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) (see Chapter 8). I would prefer that you choose a country other than Russia.
Second, you must write a paragraph describing your intended audience. Your target audience could be grades K-4, 5-8, 9-12; college students; adult learners; tourists; military, etc. Be creative! Be specific.
Third, you must include at least three informational web links for your site. Use the search function in your browser to assist you.
Fourth, your web page MUST include a map of your CIS country. You may also include the country flag and some photos.
Fifth,
save your *.html file to a diskette and turn it in on the date announced
in class. Note: You will have to save
your images separately!
If you need assistance, please ask!
*********************************************************
Your final web pages are due on the last day of class (Not Finals Day). If you wish, I can evaluate your site while in progress. The web page assignment is worth 100 points!!
If you have ANY QUESTIONS please ask me!!!
You are free to use any web page hosting site you choose. My recommendation would be to use Angelfire's free web page hosting site (http://www.angelfire.com).
There are many other FREE
web page building sites including:
